With Pro Kabaddi Season 7 auctions scheduled on 7th and 8th April speculations are doing the round on retentions of players by franchise. UP Yoddha the surprise comeback team from season 6 will surely release their 2 most expensive buy from the season 6 Rishank Devadiga and Prashant Kumar Rai.
Rishank Devadiga's performance in season 6 and senior nationals was below expectation, looking at his he may not be an RTM choice as well for UP. While Prashant Kumar Rai who impressed in season 6 and was brilliant through-out the season outside Pro Kabaddi where he played for Karnataka in senior nationals and for his employer Vijaya Bank. Last 2 months Vijaya Bank won 4 tournament titles where Prashant's performance was brilliant. UP Yoddha might use RTM card for Prashant Kumar Rai during the Pro Kabaddi Season 7 auctions.
UP Yoddha in the raiders might only retain Shrikant Jadhav the ace raider from Maharashtra who plays for Indian Railways. In the absence of Prashant and Rishank, Shrikant Jadhav was the only raider who took UP Yoddha up-to the playoffs. Shrikant Jadhav was impressive during the last 3 tournaments he played for his employer Indian Railways, Railways Inter Zone Championship, Senior Nationals, and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Championship.
UP Yoddha will retain best defender of season 6, Nitesh Kumar. With likely change in the retention policy, Nitesh Kumar's base price will change even in that case, Nitesh Kumar will fall in between 28-30 lakhs and he is surely a steal at this price.
Sachin Kumar in the left corner is another likely retention UP Yoddha might go for. UP Yoddha bough Sachin Kumar for 19.20 lakh in season 6 and with 10-12% increment at 22-24 lakh Sachin Kumar is a valuable retention.
